NEWS: 'The Albatross-Let It Go' Charity Event

'The Albatross – Let it go' event is a gig to raise money and awareness for the Music Support charity. The brainchild of ICMP music business undergraduates Liv Baker-Mendoza and Angela Roszak, tickets are already on sale for this exclusive event taking place at the brilliant Fiddler's Elbow in Camden on 24th March 2020.

Music Support is a registered charity formed by veterans of the music industry, with a mission 'to make sure that nobody in the UK music industry is left to suffer alone with mental or emotional health issues or addiction.'

This includes providing safe hubs at festivals, a free phone helpline, peer support and signposting, education and training.

Robbie Williams is the patron of the charity with founding trustees Andy Franks and Matt Thomas both veterans within the music industry.

David Enthoven, (Williams' late manager) was a strong supporter saying:

“Music Support is a brilliant gateway to the community of men and women who recognise the despair and shame of addiction and how to recover from it.”

Asked about the name for the gig 'The Albatross – Let It Go', Liv explained:

“an albatross is a symbol of the burden and guilt that you feel when you suffer from mental health issues. Let it go means just that. When you get the help you need you can feel released from those chains”.
